ADDITIONAL INFO:
“Ongoing Tale” is the title of bassist Jens Jefsen’s new solo album, which will be released on February 27- 2025.
Jefsen can now celebrate his 60th (in fact 61st) anniversary as an active jazz bassist.
The title “Ongoing Tale” refers to the fact that the music never stops.
Jefsen has played the double bass since 1964, he is among the elite of Danish jazz bassists.

After having recorded many double basses and keyboards, Jefsen selected some musicians for “Ongoing Tale” to contribute the best they can, thus ensuring a broad versatility in the musical expression.
With a few exceptions, there is one guest musician in each track.
The music is original compositions, duo sessions and a few well-known songs from the last century, given a jazz twist. The original compositions are the most thoroughly produced, while the duo sessions are recorded without prior agreement on what will be played, so therefore it became free improvisations.

Since the 70s, Jens Jefsen has played with many of the jazz giants from the USA, and with many trend-setting Danish groups and musicians as well.
Today, he is an active musician with a penchant for melodic and contemporary jazz.
Over the years, Jefsen has won recognition for his lyrical and listening playing, which is personal and always focused on the moment. With his background in Danish traditionals he plays jazz with a broad brush. Jens Jefsen equally enjoys playing traditional styles such as bebop, swing, evergreens, americana and crooner music, as well as contemporary jazz.
With his funky rhythms and solid walking bass lines, he is a stable partner for any fellow player.
